Dr. Maureen Oldach is a board-certified veterinary cardiologist with a passion for delivering individualized, empathetic, and advanced cardiac care for pets. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from the University of Maryland before completing her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine, graduating at the top of her class in 2015. She then stayed at Ohio State for a small animal rotating internship before moving to the West Coast to complete her veterinary cardiology residency at the U.C. Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. She completed award-winning research as a resident and stayed at UC Davis for an additional year as a research fellow and clinical instructor. She then moved into a multi-specialty private practice, where she provided comprehensive cardiac care for pets while being involved with training intern veterinarians and veterinary students.
Dr. Oldach is a published veterinary author of text book chapters and veterinary research manuscripts. She enjoys keeping up with the rapidly changing field of veterinary medicine to be able to integrate new information and treatments into the care plans for her patients and discussions with their pet parents. She also values a collaborative team approach to providing care for pets. The multi-specialty environment of MarQueen allows a whole team of doctors and specialists to work together with each other, pet parents and primary care veterinarians to provide comprehensive care to patients with complex diseases.
When not working, Dr. Oldach spends her time out in the mountains riding her horses on long-distance trails, hiking and camping with her husband and three dogs, out on a paddleboard on a lake somewhere, or snuggling with her two cats while reading a good book. She is also actively involved in ground support search and rescue and canine search and rescue. She is currently training her golden retriever puppy, Kell, as a wilderness area search dog with the California Rescue Dog Association (CARDA) which has been a challenging and fulfilling way to marry her love for the outdoors with her desire to provide service to the community through human-animal collaboration.
