Kristina Maier-Millar, DVM was born and raised amongst the sun and surf in beautiful Hawaii. She adventured to the mainland for higher education, receiving a BA in biology from Scripps College and her veterinary degree from the University of Florida. She graduated at the top of her class. She was awarded the Mark S. Bloomberg Memorial Scholarship for her impeccable character and commitment to service, and the Robin Weeks Endowed Scholarship for her commitment to education within the veterinary field.

Dr. Maier-Millar continued her education by pursuing a small animal rotating internship at the University of Georgia, where she cemented a love of good southern cooking, country music, and cowboy boots. She then returned to California for a small animal emergency and critical care residency at UC Davis before joining MarQueen. She has completed her residency and is eligible for the emergency and critical care certifying examination in 2025.

Her professional interests include cardiac and pulmonary disease, the management of acute toxicities, and the education of emergency clinicians and the community as a whole. When not at work, she enjoys hiking and skiing in the mountains with her husband, Greg, and their adorable golden retriever, Vesper. She also enjoys wine tasting, and ballroom dancing, and remains a staunch Florida Gator sports fan.

Dr. Maier-Millar is a part of the MarQueen emergency team providing exceptional care for your critically ill or injured pet.
